Growing up fishing in Utah, I thought I knew how it was done. I had fished most of the major lakes, reservoirs, ponds, and rivers. When I left Utah I Fly Fished extensively in New York and then moved to Georgia and fished there.
However, it wasn't until moving back to Utah that I discovered the joys of Tenkara. Not only could I go fishing easily and quickly, but I could also merge my sport with the lessons learned in the Army. As an Armor Officer I had the pleasure of graduating from the Army Reconnaissance Course. This course taught me how to move stealthily and easily through difficult terrain: two skills that are imperative in fishing "Tenkara Streams."
As a Military Veteran fishing guide, I am excited to share this passion with you and hope that by taking these lessons you will be able to gain a new hobby (that you can take anywhere) and learn to never overlook the small, difficult stream! Join Utah Tenkara Guide and find the joy in embracing this age-old sport.
